About Us - Press Releases - CEMEX recognizes suppliers in Mexico
October 12, 2016
CEMEX, S.A.B. de C.V. (“CEMEX”) (NYSE: CX) celebrated today the SUPPLIER’S DAY 2016, where the company announced the winners of the Mexican edition of INTEGRATE, CEMEX’s Suppliers Innovation Program. From a field of 28 suppliers, CEMEX recognized three winning ideas for their innovation and their contribution to the company, the communities where it operates, and the environment.
The ideas submitted for the Mexican edition of INTEGRATE—which mainly focused on providing more efficient processes, products, and services—were subjected to an evaluation and voting process directed by a group of 20 executives and experts from different areas of the company.
Additionally, 40 companies earned the OHSAS 18001:2008 Standard and were recognized as “Health and Safety Certified Suppliers.” This credential ensures these are ready to meet the highest standards of safety in both CEMEX’s operations and the rest of the world.
Idea: “High efficiency valve for dust collectors.” The project consists of making more efficient dust collectors by redefining the Pulse filter cleaning valve system—migrating from traditional diaphragm valve technology to efficient Mac spool valves.
Equipos y Explosivos del Noreste SA
Idea: “Low-density blasting agent (ANFO).” A low-density blasting agent (ANFO) made from a different fuel than the one currently used. It not only generates a cost reduction, but also achieves equal or better results in the displacement and fragmentation of each blast in CEMEX’s quarries.
Idea: “Automatic bag weigher CWB 25-50.” A system designed to perform automatic random cement bag weight sampling without human intervention—thus improving health and safety conditions.
