Trainee Manager, Aggregate Operations

Purpose of / Responsibilities of the role:

Working under the direction of a Quarry Manager/Aggregates Operations Manager, following comprehensive training you will be an integral part of the team responsible for the day-today management of a site.  You will be challenged with maintaining a very high health and safety standard on site and ensure that all activities under your control are conducted & comply with current legislation and company policies.

 

As a trainee you will experience a real mix of practical, hands-on experience.  Together with technical and academic study to ensure the right skills for your future career.  You will be a key member of the management team deeply involved in identifying & managing continuous improvements, while ensuring maximum efficiency is maintained.

In conjunction with the Quarry/Wharf manager you will ensure that all site KPIs are met within the agreed budget and timescales.  Ensuring the production of quality materials that meet customer demand.

 

Full Time / Part Time: Full Time

Working Hours: 48 hours per week (Annualised hours)

Shift Description: Day Shift, but Shift work may be required, depending on assigned location, due to some operating 24 hours.

Skills Required:
  • Educated to degree level you are ambitious, self-motivated and enthusiastic. You will need a minimum of a 2(i) in engineering or similar discipline or equivalent level qualification.

  • Previous work experience within a manufacturing, engineering or construction environment is desirable but not essential.

  • Computer literate: Competent in Microsoft Office packages and in particular intermediate level excel & word. Previous experience of using SAP is desirable but not essential.

  • SHE NVQ Level 4

  • NEBOSH or IOSH would be an advantage

  • This position is an excellent development role, and the successful candidate should be willing to study and undertake the relevant development activities that are required for this role and for the future.

  • There will be a requirement to study for specific health and safety qualification SHE NVQ level 4, if not already held.

  • Full UK driving licence for UK travel to various non base sites, in order to support overall development
