75,000m3 of readymix concrete plus 17,500 tonnes of cement supplied. At the time it was the largest UK non-stop concrete pour over 20 hours, 4,500m3. Over 500 tonnes of aggregate per hour supplied. Eight technical staff on site testing 240 cubes of concrete.
CEMEX Self Compacting concrete used to anchor blocks supporting the stadium roof. Constructed by John Laing PLC for the 2002 Commonwealth Games as an 80,000 seat stadium. Converted in 2003 to 47,000 seat football stadium. Now the fifth largest stadium in the FA Premier League.
Land remediation work for Skanska on the main London CTRL Interchange. Both CEM I and Earthfix (cement blend) were supplied by CEMEX, totalling 4,500 tonnes. Station within Box is 1,075m long and 24m deep. Largest foundations-package awarded in the UK at the time.
Soil stabilisation work completed for McArdles. Approximately 600 tonnes of CEM I cement used within groundworks. Described as the "worlds most successful airport development".
Soil stabilisation work completed for Geotherma. 500 tonnes of CEM 2 'Extra' provided.
80,000m3 of readymix concrete in total for the M25 widening from J12 to J14. 20,00m3 used for slip-formed central reservation barrier and slot drains. Fly ash incorporated into mixes to ensure conformity with sulfate resisting requirements. Water-reducing and air entraining admixtures used for various concrete types.
5,000m² of Uni-Ecoloc permeable paving system suplied. Sustainable Urban Drainage System required due to sensitive location. Rainfall penetrating pavement is controlled by treatment in wetland. Water drains through coarse aggregates within concrete paving block voids.
75,000 tonnes of cement provided for this 27 mile motorway. Also utilised 22,000 tonnes of fly ash.
2,000 pre tensioned sleepers for construction of ballasted section, City Airport. 16,500m3 concrete for precast tunnel lining segments. 60,000m2 provided for other on-site work. Concrete supplied from local plants at Dagenham, Canning Town, Stepney and Angerstein.
120,000 tonnes of flyash for track beds, walkways and precast tunnel linings. 40,000 tonnes of cement. 275,000 precast concrete cable trough units laid over 86 miles. 400 tonnes of precast wall and roof segments in Stratford Box.
20,000 tonnes of 'Stepsafe' platforms erected. Simplifies construction of platforms and stub columns. Minimised disruption in 'green zone' Avoided wet-trades during platform superstructure erection.
