On average 5 people drown each year in UK Quarries, with the first deaths often coinciding with the slightly warmer weather we experience at this time of year.
It is important that inspection schemes are up to date, with the condition of site boundaries, fencing, signage and rescue equipment being in good order.
Records are maintained of these inspections and repairs are checked to have been carried out.
