REACH
REACH is a European Union regulation concerning the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and restriction of CHemicals. It came into force on 1st June 2007 and replaces a number of European Directives and Regulations with a single system.
The objective of REACH is to understand and control the risks from chemical products for human health and the environment. To achieve this, new statutory obligations will apply to all parties involved in the supply chain or use of chemical products. The manufacturer or the importer of a chemical substance, the formulator who incorporates this substance into a preparation and the end user of the substance/preparation for an application all have specific duties under the new REACH regulations.
Please note you may have obligations as a user of substances and preparations under REACH. This information should not be relied upon as a comprehensive guide to all of your legal obligations under REACH. For more information about your obligations under REACH, please consult the European Chemical Agency.
