Halkyn Donation Rocks!

In early December 2022 the Headmaster of Rhos Helyg Primary School contacted Halkyn quarry and asked if CEMEX could donate a few rocks to finish a fire pit that had been installed in the school grounds.
Assistant Quarry Manager, Phil Brewer, along with Barrie Hill and Robert Jones from the quarry, were delighted to help. After sourcing the correct size, they delivered the stone to the school and installed the rocks in place.
On the day the rocks were delivered it was very cold and the fire pit was already alight. The rocks were put into place to form a boundary so that the children would not get too close to the fire. We also donated bags of marshmallows and hot chocolate for the children and some enthusiastic teachers to eat around the fire.
