Raynes Hosts Member of Senedd

May 25, 2023
We were pleased to welcome Darren Millar MS, Welsh Parliament member to our Raynes quarry, earlier this month.

Mr Millar was really pleased to visit the quarry and was very impressed by our work. He said of the visit in local press: “Overall, I was extremely impressed by all that they have achieved to date and are striving to achieve in the future. I am very proud to have such a successful manufacturer here in my constituency and I wish all the team at Old Colwyn the very best going forward.”

He was also glad to hear about the biodiversity on our site and said in a Facebook past: "I was amazed to learn that the quarry supports 132 different types of wildlife, including, 87 different varieties of flowering plants spotted, including several types of orchid."

Mr Millar also remarked on our work to become a net-zero carbon dioxide company by 2050, and all that we do to support the community.
Thanks to the team from Raynes quarry in North Wales, including Michael Ripley - Aggregates Operations Manager, Graham Linegar - Assistant Quarry Manager, Sean Cassidy - Sustainability Manager.
