Sharing and Learning from NMHA Examples

August 04, 2022
We will be sharing examples from across the UK business of Near Miss Hazard Alerts that have been raised and actioned. Many incidents can be common across sites and operations, therefore by sharing examples this can prompt colleagues to implement positive action to improve their own operations.

This month we are sharing a traffic management NMHA raised at CEMEX’s Angerstein Aggregates Wharf in London. Concerns had been raised over trucks crossing the walkway. The local team took positive action by installing pedestrian crossing lights which work in conjunction with traffic lights for the queuing trucks, controlled by the loading shovel driver. As well as making the site safer for pedestrians, the system also gives a good indication to visitors and employees coming in to, and out of the site in a vehicle.
