Supply Chain Health & Safety Contractor Recognition Award at Ryall

Thompsons are our barge operator on the River Severn, servicing our Ryall operation with four barges. They received the award for embracing the Cemex safety culture and making several improvements to their assets including guarding and isolation in the engine rooms, improved access ladders, installation of offside handrail, noise reduction of pumps and generators.

Mark Grimshaw-Smith, Rail and Sea Manager, commented: “This is the first time we have given this award to a water freight contractor and is a worthy recognition of Thompson’s commitment to safety and continuous improvement. We appreciate all their efforts to make our barge operation at Ryall safe and efficient and I want to thank the Aggregates operations team for their team work and support managing Thompsons.”
