What is Mortar?
Mortar is a mixture of cement, sand and (sometimes) lime. It is most commonly used for bedding bricks to build walls but has other uses as well.

What Is The difference Between Concrete & Mortar?
Both concrete and mortar are used in a wide variety of building and construction projects - but for a variety of different tasks. It's important to note that concrete is generally far stronger than mortar and therefore more suited for areas like structural support (wall-forming), building foundations and floors. Mortar is predominantly used for binding blocks, stones and bricks together.
What Types Of Mortar Are Available?
CEMEX offers 3 main types of mortar, including:
- Wet ready to use mortar
- Dry ready to use mortar (via silos or in bags)
- Lime sand for mortar

What Is Dry Silo Mortar?
Dry Silo Mortar (DSM) is a mixture of cement, sand and admixtures that is typically delivered in bulk tankers to store on site in portable, sealed silos to allow for mixing and preperation at the work site rather than remotely.
