Enraptured by raptors

It’s good to see Raptors continuing to flourish with breeding pairs returning for another year.

The RSPB have located all the Peregrine Falcon chicks and placed identification rings on each one. These birds do not always find life easy in the area due to the tourist industry drawing in shooting parties for game birds, the young of which are seen to be predators and therefore are not welcomed by the game-keeping fraternity.
The site teams, however, see them as a special addition to site diversity and do whatever they can to protect them in the hope they will return the following year – to date they have.
Long may it continue!
