CEMEX is a leading global building materials supplier with over 30 quarries and marine wharfs and a major cement works located in the UK. We are looking to add to our team of specialist dynamic and experienced planners positioned within the Land and Development function which is dedicated to growing our aggregates, cement and circularity businesses.
The candidate should have either RTPI or RICS accreditation and a strong understanding of development control and the application of planning policy. Experience in minerals and waste planning is desirable but not absolutely essential. Full support and training will be provided.
The role will involve the preparation and project management of a range of minerals and waste planning applications with accompanying environmental impact assessments where necessary to ensure permissions are obtained on time and to budget. It will also involve providing general planning advice to the business on property development matters and day to day operations, preparation of planning appraisals and providing planning policy support at a national and local level.
The Role will also involve:
- Project managing and preparing planning applications and environmental impact assessments.
- Providing planning advise to the business.
- Preparing planning appraisals.
- Advising on LAAs and site promotion.
- Attendance at industry and RAWP meetings.
- Advising on Government consultations
We offer a competitive salary, bonus, and car and pension schemes. The role is flexible and ideally based close to our Midlands Office in Coventry but will be a hybrid between home, office and site working.
Skills Required:
5 YEARS AS A PRATICISING TOWN PLANNER OR EQUIVALENT PREFERABLY IN THE MINERALS & WASTE SECTOR, MEMBER OF RTPI or RICS
A strong appreciation of emerging national policy issues on matters such as Biodiversity Net Gain and Climate Change would be very beneficial.
