We are looking for a Multi Skilled Operative to join our quarry team at West Heath Quarry, West Common, West Harting, West Sussex, GU31 5PF.

Reporting directly to the Quarry Manager/Assistant Quarry Manager, the successful candidate will make sure that the daily operation of the quarry is being run to the highest standards of safety and have a “hands on” role to ensure the timeliest and cost-effective production of all materials produced on site. The multi skilled role would involve the operation of the Mobile Sand screener, operating loading shovel to feed the processing plant and haulage lorries, planned maintenance and weighbridge distribution all working as part of a team. Comprehensive training will be provided to maximise individual potential.

Key Responsibilities:

• Adhere to and actively promote CEMEX’s H&S Standards
• Review equipment and production conditions at all times.
• Ensure that plant availability is maximised
• Ensure a quality operation and materials that meet customers’ demands.
• Ensure good housekeeping standards are maintained within the department.
• Help out planned maintenance on Mobile processing Screener

Skills Required:

To be successful in this role the ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of quarry extraction and processing. They will also have experience of working within a similar role/industry. They will also:

• Ideally have a good understanding of Health and Safety policies and procedures associated with quarrying/site operations.
• As a minimum, have training and qualifications for operating Mobile Plant (Preferred: Loading Shovel including experience of feeding processing plant hopper and LGV loading)
• Be an effective team player that can motivate and inspire other individuals to engage and comply with business policies, targets, goals and standards.
