We are looking for a Geological & Technical Co-Ordinator to join our team at our Southampton Office – Cemex UK Marine, Baltic Wharf, Elm Street, Marine Parade, Southampton, SO14 5JF.

Reporting directly to the Marine Resources Manager, key responsibilities of this role include.

  • Liaise with internal and external customers and ship’s crew, discussing technical aspects of marine aggregates to ensure cargo quality is monitored and maintained and new material loading areas are successfully developed. 

  • Coordinate a programme of prospecting and resource monitoring of marine aggregate deposits and licence extraction areas, including evaluation of marine survey and geological information.

  • Carry out critical reviews of technical reports.

  • Support in obtaining new marine licences for mineral extraction and berth dredging and ensuring compliance with Marine Licence conditions.

  • Assist with the company’s geographical information system (GIS) and mapping capabilities.

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in earth science or relevant technical subject (preferred)

  • Ideally 3 years or more in geological/geotechnical or technical role

  • Project management experience in geological or technical field

  • Experience of review, editing and summarising technical reports

  • Experience of technical report writing

  • Understanding of the technical requirements for construction aggregates and contract fill

  • High computer proficiency ideally with knowledge of SAP and Office 365 programmes.
